To discover usability issues with actual users of new website. Education sector.

Method

In-person usability testing.

Steps

  • Conducted and analysed subject matter expert interviews, online survey, to feed into usability tasks.
  • Trained observation team, recruited users, facilitated sessions in user’s environment where issues and metrics collected.
  • Collaborative analysis using K J workshops (like affinity diagramming).
  • Presented results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Outcome

  • Crucial issues were identified that significantly inhibited use of the website; top issues as aside.
  • Usability quantifiably measured as a benchmark for future testing.
